SKIM
Skim Rubber is a material which results from the production of latex concentrate by centrifugation.
After the centrifugation process, some 5-10% of the total rubber, together with an enhanced
proportion of the non-rubber constituents of the original latex, remain in the serum phase to form
‘skim latex’. Neutralization and coagulation of this latex by appropriate methods then gives ‘skim
rubber’.
